NSPIS HR - National Interfaces
NMIS Interface
This interface from NSPIS HR to NSPIS NMIS (certified by Northgate) feeds NMIS with the large volume of HR data required by NMIS to produce accurate and complete HMIC Annual Data Returns.
This interface replaces the need for any data re-keying or manipulation saving weeks of manual effort for Forces each quarter.
A total of 15 NSPIS HR Forces have now installed the interface and are at various stages of implementation, including Forces who are now operating the interface in a live environment.
Feedback on the implementations to date has been very positive. A maintenance release was completed during November and is undergoing SAT at Suffolk and Notts.
Command & Control Interface (CnCi)
A bi-directional interface to synchronise common data (e.g. skills, planned duties, actual duties, call signs) ‘real time’ between NSPIS HR and Command & Control.
This interface is based on XML – an open standard for data interchange.
Site Acceptance Testing continued at Derbyshire during December. A Steria version of the interface went live at Durham in December.
Please note that as well as providing a Command and Control Interface to the NSPIS Command and Control System, Cedar is able to provide interfaces to other Command and Control systems.
We now have available a version of the interface to Steria Storm and this has been contracted for by two Forces. We are also interested in talking to Forces requiring other interfaces to Command and Control systems. Please contact your Cedar Project Manager for further details.
National Level Directory Services (NLDS)
The NLDS Interface will provide Forces with an essential facility to export necessary data to support the Police 118 Directory, a key element of the Unified Police Security Architecture.
Development of the Interface is complete and will enter Site Acceptance Testing pending a suitable lead Force. Following acceptance, this Interface will be available at nil licence cost and an annual maintenance fee.
Case and Custody Interface
This is expected to be two bi-directional interfaces between NSPIS HR and Case & Custody systems to pass duty and personnel information. It will be based on XML - an open standard for data interchange.
Initial requirements workshops have previously been held by PITO resulting in a high level user requirement. A proposal has been submitted to PITO by Cedar HR for production of formal Functional and Technical Specifications.
NCALT/MLE Interface
An interface between NCALT Managed Learning Environment (MLE) and NSPIS HR. This will benefit Forces by removing duplication of data and process between these two systems.
A high level outline of requirements has been created by PITO for the MLE interface. Cedar is now working to provide a proposal to take this to full Functional Specification.
