Cedar HR’s portfolio of Origin products is a key-enabler for transformation across the whole of the back office. It provides a foundation to drive data across the Force and presents a ‘single source of truth’, removing discrepancies and any need for the double keying of data.
‘On premise’
The traditional delivery approach for Origin has been ‘on premise’ to a single Force. Origin, however, is not restricted to this delivery approach and there are a number of deployment options. Forces looking to capitalise in this area to drive out savings, using the flexibility of Origin have an unrestricted choice in how to approach their goals.
‘On Premise’ is still an option most Forces are proceeding with, keeping Origin in house and managing it internally. As further savings need to be realised they can then decide to move to a managed service or fully outsourced approach.
Route to collaboration
Forces can either progress to Origin ERP as a single Force then commence collaboration to leverage further savings, or they have the option of collaborating first with their existing Origin Resource Management system followed by an extension of the footprint to the wider Origin ERP solution.
Multi-tenancy
Force collaboration sees the introduction of multi-tenancy functionality whereby more than one Forces’ data is held securely in one system but access to the data is driven by the Force’s requirements in line with joint operational units being established.
This allows Forces to maintain discrete secure local information whilst at the same time allowing joint operational teams to have access to the necessary cross Force information. A simple example would be a joint operational team supervisor having self-service access to duties and skills information of officers from other Forces in their team.
Origin is the common denominator for whichever route the Force adopts to drive through its transformation. Where Forces have selected the fully outsourced approach, Origin is still the heart of the back office system driving the core data around the Force.
