We are delighted to announce a major development for Cedar HR, significantly enhancing our capability to deliver solutions to the Police Market.
Cedar HR has today been acquired by Capita PLC, the UK's leading provider of Business Process Outsourcing.
Cedar HR will become part of Capita Secure Information Systems, who already provide ICT products and services to 52 of the 53 UK Police Forces. Origin ERP will be a major enhancement to the portfolio of Integrated Police Products and Services that the company can deliver to the Police Service.
This presents all of the team at Cedar HR with a new, exciting way forward as a company. With the resources and expertise of Capita behind us we can now push on with plans to expand the rollout of Origin ERP, deploying it across Force collaborative shared services as well as underpinning hosted, managed or outsourced back office solutions.
This news will only strengthen the Origin Programme and we will continue to work closely with the National User Group to develop the Origin product and to extend the footprint of Origin ERP across the back office to meet your needs. We will also continue to focus on the needs of our current customers and deliver the benefits of our Customer Service Improvement Programme.
The Senior Management Team at Cedar HR and all of your day to day contacts remain the same and as we begin to integrate in with Capita Secure Information Systems we will of course announce any changes to you as they are established.
Commenting on the deal, Andy Parker, joint chief operating officer of the Capita Group said: "This acquisition adds both innovation and breadth to our solutions for police forces. It will allow us to offer a full, end to end, back office solution integrating payroll, rostering and scheduling, finance and procurement; in essence a platform for transformation in what is an important new market for Capita. Given the challenges the sector faces, we believe our offering will provide police forces with real opportunities to drive down costs, improve services to citizens and accelerate their transformational journey."

On the 17th May a Police community event was organised in conjunction with the Origin National User Group and Cedar HR. The objective was to bring senior personnel from across all Forces together to share ideas and showcase work already undertaken to address the Comprehensive Spending Review, budget cut targets and efficiency savings.
The presenting Forces were asked to demonstrate how the implementation of Origin through differing delivery models met their Force requirements but also retained the shared objective to reduce cost and make savings for their Force.
Representatives from 26 UK Police Forces met at NPIA Ryton. Graham Liddiard, Director of Resources at Staffordshire Police and Chairman of the Origin National User Group, chaired the event that showcased strategic projects from 3 UK Police Forces.
